Kathy Gunter Green, age 58 of Brasstown, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Murphy Medical Center. Kathy was born December 5, 1959 in Walker County, Alabama to the late Robert Lee Gunter, Sr. and the late Fannie Mae Chastain Gunter.
A member of the Little Brasstown Baptist Church, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandson, Jonah, reading, going to painting classes with her husband, Tommy, watching her son, Kurtis, participate in Special Olympics, and watching movies and crocheting with daughter, Kristy. Kathy was a retired teacher of 32 years from Cherokee County Schools. Kathy loved teaching at Ranger School and talked often about all her memories there with co-workers and students.
Survivors include husband, Thomas Green, daughter, Kristy Green, son, Kurtis Green, brother, Robert Lee Gunter, Jr., and one grandson, Jonah Fahrmann. Kathy was aunt to Vane Gunter, Trace Gunter, Kinsley Gunter, Ashley Gunter, Brandon Bryant, Tanner Rogers, Jennifer Green, Sheridan & Rosley Hall, Sawyer Green, Samantha Green, Jasmine & Adah Green, and Blake & Brett McDonald.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 6:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home in Murphy with Rev. Aud Brown, Rev. Larry Bryson and Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. A private interment will be held at Enotah Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Enotah Cemetery Fund, c/o Barbara Spiva, 3455 Fodders Creek Road, Hiawassee, GA, 30546.
