Kathleen Jean Querry McKinney (Griggs)

Mrs. Kathleen Querry McKinney, age 84 of Blue Ridge, passed away April 20, 2013 at the Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga. Mrs. McKinney was born January 24, 1929 in Epworth, GA to the late Alonso and Lilly Mae Brown Griggs. A member of the First Baptist Church of Epworth, she was preceded in death by husband, John E. Querry Sr., three brothers, T.L. Griggs, Herman Griggs and Claude Griggs, and sister, Maxine Griggs Beavers. Kathleen enjoyed shopping and gardening, spending time with her family and attending her grandson's sporting events. She was a member of the Merry Makers ladies organization, Healthy Woman and Senior Circle.

Survivors include husband, John McKinney, one son, John "Johnny" Querry Jr.& wife Cindy, sister, Willa Nell Cotton & husband Bill, grandson, John "L.J." E. Querry III & Fiancé Alicia Davidson, grandson, James "Chance" Chancellor Querry, step-son, John McKinney & wife Arlene, step-daughter, Claudia Mitchell & husband Wayne, and sister-in-law, Thelma German. Also many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Epworth with Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music provided by Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sharp, Pat Sharp, Roger Beavers, Tim McDaris, Sam Lewis, Randy Denton, Barron Earley, Drake Pugh. Honorary pallbearers George Brown, Bill Simonds, Jack Miller, Bill Cotton, Joe Burger, James McDaris, Morris Verner, Henry Mitchell, and William Young Querry.

The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Wednesday evening from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
