Kathleen Heltzel

Mrs. Kathleen Heltzel, age 84 of Murphy, NC, passed away June 9, 2009 at her home following a brief illness. Mrs. Heltzel was born in Cherokee Co., NC, to the late Leamon Sutton and Ora Gibson Sutton. She was preceded in death by brother, Adam Sutton, sister, Ruth Sutton West, infant brother, J.O. Sutton, infant sister, Billie Jean Sutton.

Survivors include: son, Ronnie Heltzel of Murphy, daughter, Pam Heltzel of Murphy, grandsons; Chad Heltzel of Marietta, GA, Zackerey Heltzel of Norfolk, VA., companion of 52 years Fred Johnson of Murphy, several nieces and nephews, sisters; Wilma Palmer of Murphy, Polly Caldwell of Brasstown, NC, Joann Cook of Blue Ridge, GA.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2009 at 4:00pm from the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy with the Rev. Donald Cook and Aud Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Johnny Sutton, Adam Sutton, Jr., Scott Sutton, Shawn Johnson, Johnny Moore, Eric Wyke .

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 2:00-4:00pm .
