Mr. John Thomas "J.T." Hyde, age 93, of Copperhill, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020. J.T. Hyde was born in Copperhill, TN, to the late John Hamilton Hyde and Sari Katherine "Kati" Barnes Hyde. He attended Fry Elementary School and one year of high school at McCaysville High School from age 15-16. Mr. Hyde joined the Navy in 1945 at the age of nineteen. Mr. Hyde came home from WWII on April 6, 1946. Then he completed his high school credits over two years at a special VA school. He was a part of the McCay Lodge. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Cornelius "Neal" Hyde, Nancy Hyde, John Barnes, and George W. Barnes, his parents, John Hamilton Hyde and Sari Katherine "Kat" Barnes Hyde, brothers, and sisters, Anna Mae, Luther "Luke," Bill, Clarence, David "Bud," and Jessie Maude, first wife, Betty Jean Cook, second wife, Edna Earl Burger Farmer, and, son, Douglas Anderson "Andy" Hyde.
Survivors include his children Rebecca "Becky" Yvonne Johnson(Ryan), Vanessa Hyde McKeon, step-children, Johnny Farmer, Tony Farmer, and Sharon Farmer. His grandchildren William Robert McKeon Jr(Irene), Jonathan Dustin "Dusty" McKeon, Nathan Johnson (Amanda), Hannah Jean Allen (Avram), step-grandchildren Matthew Farmer, Jonathan Farmer (Lindsey), and Jordan Farmer(Briana). Great-grandchildren, Dillion Johson (Whitley), Emily Skye Johnson, James Holton, Dilton Johnson, Jonathan Theodore "Teddy" McKeon, William "Will" Robert McKeon, Nora Glenn McKeon, Chase Emmitt McKeon, Londyn Andrea Allen, and Liam Alexander Allen, step-grandchildren, Deacon Farmer and Neyland Farmer.
Pallbearers: Jonathan Farmer, Jordan Farmer, William McKeon, Jonathan McKeon, Mark Burger, and Micheal Early.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, at 2:00 pm, from the chapel of Finch-Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of McCaysville, GA, with Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Special music will be provided by Ryan Norton.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 24, 2020, from 12:00 pm until the service hour, at the funeral home.
