Mrs. Jozie Ellis Stamey, age 86, of Epworth, GA, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge. Mrs. Stamey was born Sunday, March 19, 1922 in Gilmer County, GA to the late Lester Ellis and the late Roxie Mathis Ellis.
Survivors include: son, Fairley L. Stamey of Epworth, GA, daughter, Shirley Patterson of Blue Ridge, GA, sister, Bonnie Stover of Ellijay, GA, three grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 2:30 PM at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Reverend Wallace Pruiett officiating. Interment will follow in Pan Will Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Ron Mauldin, Zach Mauldin, Paul Patterson, Howie Bruce, David Stover, and Mark Richards.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9:00 pm, Saturday, September 27.
