Cochran Funeral Home and Crematory of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Jennings Sprayberry of Blairsville, Georgia who passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. Sprayberry was a native of Alabama, and was a daughter of the late Thomas Hamilton Jennings and the late Ovie Humphries Jennings. She had lived in Blairsville since 1978 moving here from Gadsden, Alabama. Mrs. Sprayberry was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church and at Antioch Baptist church, when a member there, was active in Baptist Women's groups and had served as a Sunday School Teacher. She was a self-taught artist, and had a hunger for knowledge. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Loyal Sprayberry, her son Allen Wade, her daughter-in-law, Catherine Louise, four brothers, Jack, Jerry, Thomas, and Hugh, and four sisters, Mary, Margaret, Francis, and Alice (Faye) along with her parents.
Surviving family members left to carry on her legacy are her sister Julia (Judy) of Anniston, Alabama, son, L. Gene Sprayberry, of Blairsville, two grandsons, Wade L. Sprayberry (Angel) of Blairsville and Kelly G. Sprayberry (Tracy) of Marietta, a great grandson Nathan Sprayberry (Amanda), a great granddaughter Mallory Sprayberry, great granddaughters Kassy Guffey (Justin) , Selena Victoria (Ben), great grandson Michael Victoria, and great, great granddaughter Emma Guffey as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for Monday October, 22, 2018 to be held at 6:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, Georgia with Reverend Jerry Karnes officiating. The Family will meet with friends on Monday, October 22nd at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. before the service starts. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anniston, Alabama, on October 23rd, with Reverend Scotty Jarrard officiating. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Nathan Sprayberry, Michael Victoria, Justin Guffey, Michael Hitzing, Mike Stephens, Garran Crawford, and Ben Waterhouse.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Georgia Baptist's Children's Home.
