Joyce Herring

On Thursday, May 31, 2018, Joyce Herring, 69, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend passed peacefully at her home in Morganton. Joyce was born in Atlanta in 1949, the daughter of James and Kathryn Hanson. Joyce's love of the Mountains brought her full-time to Blue Ridge in 1996, and as an active member of the community she especially enjoyed her interactions with locals and visitors alike while pursuing her love of antiques at Blue Ridge Antique Mall.

Joyce will be forever remembered by her husband Gary, and their children, daughter Kathy and husband Arthur Hufford, son Chris Blosfeld and wife Seema, daughter Jenny and husband Warren Green, by their eight grandchildren, Zach, Julia, David, Maisy, Dean, Saralyn, Ajay and Nik and by her surviving sisters and brothers, Judi and husband Ron Swafford, Jan and husband Bill Harris, Austin Hanson, Randy and wife Bridget Hanson, sisters-in-law Tammy Hanson and Stephanie Hanson . She will also be missed by her lifelong friend as close as a sister, Jan Holley and by many beloved nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Todd Hanson.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 10th at 2 o'clock at Highland Baptist Church, 631 Industrial Boulevard, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
