Joyce Amanda Phillips

Joyce A. Phillips, age 86, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Murphy Rehab and Nursing Home. Mrs. Phillips was born April 1, 1935, in Macon County, NC to the late Daniel Mack and the late Zell Kilpatrick Mack. She attended Wilscot Baptist Church, and had retired from many years of nursing. Joyce enjoyed playing the piano, reading her Bible, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Mack, mother, Zell Kilpatrick Mack, husband, Hillard Phillips, brothers, Major Mack, R.V. Mack, Warren Mack, and Willard Mack.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Phillips Powers, son, Vincent Phillips, grandchildren, Alyssa Powers and Nathan Powers, and great-grandchild, Brittany Powers.

Funeral services: Monday, August 23, 2021, at 4:00 pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel of Murphy, NC, with Rev. Scott Cole officiating. Interment will follow in the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Murphy, Monday, August 23, 2021, from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
