Mr. Joseph Rodney Cash, age 92 of Cleveland, passed away October 4, 2015 at Bradley Health Care. Mr. Cash was born November 22, 1922 in Prescott, AK to the late Joseph Robert Cash and the late Pearl Avery Cash. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a member of the Big Springs United Methodist Church after serving as Sunday school teacher and superintendent for many years at Ausbury United Methodist Church, both in Cleveland. Joseph was a 57 year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #74.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Geneva York Cash, and two brothers, Sidney and Melvin Cash.
Survivors include: son & daughters-in-law, Tim & Charlene Cash of McDonald, TN and Rodney Dale & Gail Cash of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Oleta Hatch and Doneta Daniels both of Hope AR; three grandchildren, Bryan Cash, T. J. Cash, and Deirdre Cash Leffew; two step-granddaughters, Penny Michell Harvey, and Melissa Nicole; six great grandchildren, Kasey Leffew, Kaylee Leffew, Lily Cash, Zane Cash, Austin Parsons, and Sadie Parsons; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: Wednesday, October, 7, 2015 at Finch-Cochran Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with the Kenneth Scoggins officiating. Interment will follow in the Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Ranger, NC. Serving as pallbearers are T.J Cash, Jeff Jordan, Peter York, Daniel Cash, Micael York, Donald Shearin, Brad York and Carl Cash. Honorary pallbearers are Tony Cash and Sam Cash.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
