Johnny Brown

Johnny Burtz Brown, age 83 of Morganton, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at his home. Johnny was born July 22, 1933 in Ducktown, TN to the late George S. Brown and the late Minnie Burtz Brown Campbell. A member of Toccoa Baptist Church, Johnny was also an active member of the Blue Ridge Senior Center. He loved doing puzzles and he was a resident at Bobby's Guest Care where he enjoyed spending time with the other resident's. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Louise Waldroupe, brother, Cornell Brown, brother, George J Brown, brother, Cliff Brown, sister, Maxine Davis, sister, Dorothy Campbell and daughter, Dana B Lackey.

Survivors include: grandchildren, Dustin and Nathan Lackey, one great-grandchild, sister in law, Alma "Sally" Brown and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Toccoa Baptist Church with the Rev. Doyle Davis officiating. Interment will follow in the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Michael Ray, William Ray, Ronnie Ray, Dustin Lackey, Nathan Lackey, Tim Davis, Neal Perrenich.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery Fund (PO Box 352, Blue Ridge GA 30513). Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm.
