John J. Gorges

John J. Gorges, age 87 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away September 19, 2020, at his home. Mr. Gorges was born April 3, 1933, in New York, NY to the late John Gorges Sr. and the late Marguerite Cox. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marguerite Crowie. A veteran of the Navy during the Korean War, Mr. Gorges lived in the Blue Ridge area for thirty years. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family and was an avid baseball fan.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Gorges; three sons, Dennis (Rainey) Gorges, Steven (Patricia) Gorges, and John (Julie) Gorges; two daughters, Donna (Mike) Wilson and Connie Spires; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial service: Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at 3:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA with the Rev. Asa Dockery officiating. Music provided by: Lydia Long.
