John George Reeves

May 8, 1946 — August 20, 2013

Mr. John George Reeves, Jr., age 67 of Blue Ridge, passed away August 20, 2013 at Embracing Hospice of Snellville, GA. Mr. Reeves was born May 8, 1946 in Philadelphia, PA to the late John G. Reeves and the late Mary Haviland Reeves. He was a member of the Crossover Community Church of Blue Ridge. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

John earned a BA in History from Rider College, an MBA from Rutgers University and MEd in Social Studies from the University of West Georgia.

John was a Project Director for the Bosch Corporation in the USA and Germany. He was a Delegate to the '94 Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway and a Logistics Director for the '96 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a Social Studies teacher and boys soccer coach for both Douglas County High School and Fannin County High School and the mock trial coach for FCHS.

Survivors include: wife, Letitia Reeves, daughter, Karina Reeves, daughter & son-in-law, Melissa R. (John) Nettleton, son & daughter-in-law, Toby (Beth) Lawver, son & daughter-in-law, Jonathan (Joanna) Bridges, grandsons, Nicholas Lawver, Jacob Lawver, Brady Nettleton, granddaughter, Erin Nettleton; sisters, Mary Ann Oetter, Nancy Hedgpeth.

Funeral services: Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Cortis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at Canton, GA. 9:30 A.M. Friday, August 23, 2013.

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Thursday, August 22, 2013 5:00 pm until service at 7:00 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideon International or the Alzheimer's Association in John's memory. You may send condolences to the family and sign the guest register at www.cochranfuneralhomes.com.
