John Elliott Sime

Mr. John Elliott Sime, age 64, of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at his home.

Mr. Sime was a native of Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and had lived in Hiawassee since 2007, moving there from New York. He was of the Presbyterian faith. Before John's retirement and subsequent move to the North Georgia Mountains, he was the owner of John Sime Design's in New York. John was a member of The American Society of Interior Designers. His father, Rev. Alexander Sime, preceded him in death.

He will be missed by many; including his mother, Genie Elliott Sime, of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Raquel Sime, of Long Beach, New York; son and daughter-in-law, David and Anne Marie Sime, of Levittown, New York; and son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Sarah Sime, of Maplewood, New Jersey; four brothers: Peter Sime, of Hadden Heights, New Jersey; James Sime, of Blairsville, Georgia; Billy Mandell of Rocky Point, New York; and Kenny Mandell, of Long Beach, New York; three grandchildren: Victoria Sime, Genna Sime, and Henry Alexander Sime.

Memorial services were held Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 5 p.m. from the Mountain Presbyterian Church with Rev. Travis Adams officiating.
