John E. Mellett, age 88 of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Mr. Mellett was born Monday, September 1, 1919 in Fulton Co., GA to the late John and Luti (Thornton) Mellett. He was a WW II US Army Veteran. Mr. Mellett loved photography, and this beautiful lake area. He was an avid Flea Marketeer and was former owner of a local tire shop.
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Michele & Bob Sledge of Ankeny, Iowa, grandson, Kenny Sledge of Ankeny, Iowa.
No local services are planned. Interment will be in Iowa.
