John Dorsey Cole

John Dorsey Cole, age 86 of Ellijay, formerly of Mineral Bluff, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Cameron Hall Assisted Living Facility in Ellijay. Mr. Cole was born March 15, 1931 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Frank Cole and the late Winifred Warren Cole. A member of the Mineral Bluff First Baptist Church and a retiree of the USAF, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Welsh Cole, second wife, JoAnn Cole, five siblings, Alvin Cole, Warren Cole, Lucille Cole Bubsey, J.D. Cole, and Doyle Cole. In his spare time, John enjoyed being outdoors and activities such as hunting, fishing, gardening and taking walks with his dogs.

Survivors include son, John (Wanda) Cole, daughter, Deborah (Robert) Westmoreland, son, Michael Cole, step-children, Randy Bailey, Pat Holloway, Billy Holland, three sisters, Deane Dillard, Martha Smith and Diane Yarborough, two brothers, Duane Cole and Benjamin Cole, three grandchildren, Jason Cole, Katherine Cole and Anna Westmoreland and two great-grandchildren, Gavyn Reed and Austin Cole.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Mineral Bluff First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Cheatham and Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers are Brian Wright, Timothy Wright, Bill Bubsey, Jason Cole, Robert Westmoreland and Benjamin Cole

The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6-9 pm. Donations to Hospice Compassus "583 Highland Crossing Suite 120 Ellijay, GA. 30540" are preferred or you may send flowers.
