Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces memorial services for Mrs. JoAnne England Weber, age 74, of Doraville, Georgia, formerly of Blairsville who passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013.
Mrs. Weber was born in Athens, Georgia on March 27, 1939 to the late Robert & Alma Elkins England. She was the "baby" of all her siblings. Her family moved to Blairsville where her mother taught school. JoAnn attended Young Harris College and the University of Georgia, following in her mother's footsteps to become a teacher. Believing that education of our children will impact the future, JoAnn dedicated 30 years as an Elementary School teacher for the Atlanta Public School system. Upon retirement, she took the time to enjoy cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. JoAnn was outgoing and had the ability to make friends wherever she went. Her homes "rain forest" backyard was cultivated with love as she sat back to greet the numerous wild birds that would come and visit. Although she lived in the Atlanta for her adult life, she was still a mountain girl at heart. Never missing an opportunity to return home to visit the local shops and enjoy the scenery and experiences the mountains had to offer. Mrs. Weber was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Charlene Clark and brother, Bobby England.
JoAnne will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: husband, Bill Weber; son-in-law, Rod Clark; sister & brother-in-law, Joyce & Ralph Johns; sister-in-law, Ann England and 3 grandchildren, Shayla, Matthew and Sheldon Clark.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Union Memory Gardens with Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. A celebratory Dove Release Ceremony will conclude the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284 or American Lung Association, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, Suite 800. Washington, DC 20004.
