Jo Mosley

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Jo Dyer Mosley, age 90 of Blairsville who went to be with her Lord on Friday morning, June 21, 2019.

Mrs. Mosley was born in Donalsonville, Georgia, a daughter of the late Joseph Wornie Dyer and the late Bert Shuler Dyer. Jo grew up in Pickens County and graduated from Pickens County High School. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Music from Wesleyan Conservatory, and her Masters in Education from North Georgia College. After she and Wallace were married, they lived in College Park for many years before moving to Union County in 1974, where she resided for the rest of her life. She was a teacher in the Union County School System before retiring, and was a member of the Union County Retired Teachers Association. Mrs. Mosley was a member of Choestoe Baptist Church, where she also played the organ for many years.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: daughter, Tonia Albright of Blairsville; daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Mac McGuire of Blairsville; and son & daughter-in-law, Steven and Glenda Mosley of Fletcher, NC. Also, sharing in her legacy are her grandchildren Heather (Todd) Buchanan, Shaun McGuire, Lindsay (Brian) Gowan, Matt (Stephanie) Johnson, Erin (Jonathon) Brown, and Evan (Carla) Albright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace G. Mosley; and her son, Glen Mosley.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Choestoe Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Zollinger and Rev. Dick Stillwell officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Todd Buchanan, Shaun McGuire, Brian Gowan, Matt Johnson, Jonathon Brown, and Evan Albright. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m..
