Jimmy Dale Barton

Jimmy Dale Barton, age 73 of Murphy, NC, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010 at his home. He was born in Cherokee County, NC April 20, 1937 to Gay Z. Barton and Minnie Walker Barton . A member of the Tomotla Baptist Church he was a master carver working with Campbells Folk School and a retired construction manager.
He was preceded in death by father, Gay Z. Barton, mother, Minnie Barton, brother, George W. Barton, brother, Bob Barton, sister, Christina Smith.

Survivors include: wife, Cheryl Barton, daughter & son in law, Renee (Scott) Casey, daughter, Chirs Crapps, daughter, Carmen Shaw, daughter, Nicole Barton, daughter & son in law, Jami (David) Reed, daughter & son in law, Summer (Kevin) Park, sister, Lucy Christopher, eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, neices and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 4:00pm at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Stiles officiating. Music provided by Tomotla Baptist Church Choir.
