Jimmie Lou Long, age 79, of Ducktown, passed away Friday, May 11, 2007 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. Jimmie was born Tuesday, June 21, 1927 in Polk County Tenn. to the late John Luther McNabb and the late Bernice Byers McNabb. She was a member of the Croft Chapel Methodist Church where she served as the pianist. She was preceded in death by husband, Warren G. Long.
Survivors include: daughter, Ruby Brown of Ducktown, daughter, Kathy Cherry of Turtletown, daughter & son-in-law, Susie & Joe Ballew of Turtletown, daughter & son-in-law, Betsy & Jeff Smith of Turtletown, brother, Bill McNabb of Hixon, sister, Betty McGee of Hixon, sister & brother in law, Helen & Bud Short, grandson, Samuel Paul Brown, granddaughter, Candice Cross, granddaughter, Nancy Carr, grandson, James Cherry, grandson, Tommy Cherry, grandson, Kyle Ballew, grandson, Brandon Ballew, granddaughter, Amanda Smith. Twelve great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 3:00PM from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Rene Whitenbarger officiating. Music will be provided by Ed Vest. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Sam Brown, James Cherry, Brandon Ballew, Kyle Ballew, Tommy Cherry, Justin Cherry, Harlen Carr and Jesse Williamson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-3, Saturday, May 12.
