Mrs. Jimmie Doris Daves, age 77 of Morganton, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Fannin Regional Hospital. Mrs. Daves was born November 13, 1937 in the hot house community to the late Coatus Rackley and the late Ina Cantrell Rackley. A member of the McCaysville Church of Christ, she was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Myrtle Olvey, Marie Quintrell, and Martha Jones. Jimmie was a friendly and caring person. She enjoyed being around people, especially her sons and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching the deer on her property.
Survivors include loving husband, Bob Daves, son, Rex (Pat) Daves, son, Brad (Patty) Daves, both sons reside in Whitmore Lake, MI, sisters, Peggy Potts and Johnnie Ross, brother, Don Rackley, four grandchildren, Robert, Spyro, Malynda, and Jayme. Also several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Ministers, Butch Jones, Ricky Jones and Keith Ritchie officiating. Congregational singing will be led by Jim Wright. Interment will follow in the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with the committal service officiated by Minister Bill Johnston. The gentlemen serving as Pallbearers will be Bob Loudermilk, Don Dilbeck, Daniel Stanley, Jerry Williams, Ken Johnson, and Brandon Jones.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Monday evening from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
