Jessie Charles Garland

Jessie Charles Garland, age 87, of Blue Ridge, passed peaceably surrounded by his family Saturday morning, June 9, 2018, at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Garland was born June 6, 1931, in Gilmer County Ga. to the late Jesse Garland and the late Pearl Teems Garland. Charles was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and had retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation. His church family was at Bethel United Methodist Church, he was a Mason, shade tree mechanic, and a farmer who enjoyed spending time on his tractor. He loved his family and enjoyed taking care of them. Mr. Garland especially liked helping anyone in need. He was preceded in death by brothers, Garry Garland and Robert Garland, and sister, Betty Turner.
Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Doris Shook Garland, son, Randy (Jeannie) Garland, daughter, Susie (Tim) Garland Taylor, son, Wayne (Elizabeth) Garland, grandchildren, Nathan (Sonal) Taylor, Nick (Julie) Taylor, Anna Garland, Will Garland, Destiny Garland, Cooper Garland, Bentley Garland, great granddaughter, Ayla Taylor, sister, Christine Stover, sister, Charlene Byrd, brother, Howard (Joan) Garland, sister, Brenda (Coy) Richards, Brother, Ben (Mary Ann) Garland, Brother, Rex (Linda) Garland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at 4:00 pm at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Taylor officiating. Music provided by Gene Garland and Teresa Ross.
Military Honors will be by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
