Jesse Franklin Barnett

Mr. Jesse Franklin Barnett, age 79 of Blue Ridge, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his residents in Blue Ridge. Mr. Barnett was born October 26, 1934 in Milan, TN to the late Raymond Franklin Barnett and the late Ola Morgan Barnett. A member of Epworth First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Barnett attended the Lambuth Methodist College in Jackson, TN with a minor in Music, Southwestern Seminary in Forth Worth, TX with a Bachelor of Church Music Degree, major in Voice and a minor in Conducting and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX with and Educational Assistant Certification. He has worked in the music ministry for almost 50 years serving many churches in TX, TN, AL and GA. He worked with choir programs from age 4 and up as well as hand bell choirs and youth and education ministries.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Barnett, son, Eric Justin Barnett, son, Ansel Jay (Judith) Barnett, daughter, Nancy (Jan) Rhodes, daughter, Shellie (Donald) DeLoach, son, Jon Arthur (Rebecca) Lord, brother-in-law, Robert (Sharron) Jones, niece , Ola Jones, grandchildren, Willow Barnett, Elizabeth Rhodes, Michelle Rhodes, Jordan DeLoach, Tyler DeLoach, Allison (Matthew) Gamble, Emily (Nathan) Layfield and Jon Michael (Caitlin) Lord.

Funeral Services: Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 12:00 Noon from the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music provided by: Rev. Doug Simonds. Interment will follow in the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Don DeLoach, Jordan DeLoach, Jon Michael Lord, Roy Dimick , Bill Turpin.
