Jerry Willis Edwards

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces the death and graveside services for Mr. Jerry Willis Edwards, age 73, of Marietta, Georgia, who passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 in Austell, Georgia.

Mr. Edwards was a native of Hiawassee and had lived in the Marietta area for the past 46 years. Jerry loved working with his hands, and built race cars and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He had been preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Velma Burrell Edwards; a sister, Linda Sue Ledford; and a brother, Mitchel Edwards.

Surviving family members include three sons: James Edwards, of Dallas, Georgia; Jerry Edwards, Jr., and Terry Edwards, both of Buford, Georgia; two sisters: Jeanette Edwards Ledford, of Dallas, Georgia, and Regina Edwards Price of Marietta, Georgia; two brothers: Gary Edwards of Blairsville, and Larry Edwards of Hiawassee; four grandchildren also survive: James Hunter, Laura Allie Edwards, Kindra Edwards, and Bryson Edwards; many nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services have been scheduled for Sunday, February 25, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., to be held at Osborn Cemetery in Hiawassee. The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Tommy Price, Shane Nichols, Joseph Drake, John Stymus, Jonathon Drake, Dalton Nichols, Robert Nichols, and Mark Rodey; asked to serve as honorary escort to the family are Josh Tyus and Austin Nichols.

The family will meet with friends on Sunday morning, February 25th, 2018, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee, and then go in procession to Osborn Cemetery.
