Jerry Barrett

Mr. Jerry Wayne Barrett, age 74 of Morganton, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 23, 2010. Mr. Barrett was born in Marshall, TX. to Earl & Gladys Barrett on April 29, 1936. Barrett served as a Paratrooper in the Army for 5 years, he was a member of the seniors bowling league for 10 years as well as the Monday night league in Blue Ridge, GA.. As a profession Mr. Barrett was a Chemistry Professor and the Vice President of Academic Affairs with the Hong Kong Baptist University for 24 years.

Survivors include: wife, Lynn Barrett of the home, son, Patrick (Laura) Barrett of Atlanta, GA., daughter, Leigh Erin (Jack Mingo) Barrett of Alameda, CA., brother, Danny (Wanda) Barrett of Marshall, TX. & 4 grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Cherry Log Christian Church on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 5:00-7:00pm with a memorial service at 7:00pm.
