Jeanne Marie Kasper Wolfort, age 76, of Hayesville, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her home.
Born December 28, 1937, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, she moved to Florida with her husband in 1960. They vacationed in North Carolina for many years. She worked for the Department of Treasury, US Customs Investigating unit as an office manager and Intelligence analyst for 16 years, until retiring in 2001.
Jeanne was an accomplished artist, creative, energetic and always full of laughter. Her sense of humor brought smiles to many. She was a proud and doting grandmother, generous and loving mother, loyal and devoted wife. She will be greatly missed by all who came to know and love her.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Wolfort of Cudjoe Key, Florida, her daughters Kathleen Wolfort of Savannah, Georgia, and Kimberly Wolfort Hammel of Decorah, Iowa, her grandsons, Johnny (10) and Tommy (7) of Decorah, Iowa, sister Lorraine Escoda of Naples, Florida, and brother Robert Kasper of Huntington, New York. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Fischer and Frank Kasper.
Private Services and Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions are welcome and should be mailed to Catholic Charities.
