Mrs. Jean Stewart, age 76 of Blairsville, passed away Saturday morning September 17, 2016 at Lazy R Personal Care Center. Mrs. Stewart was born August 29, 1940 in Athens, GA to the late Ralph Hoyt Parker and the late Hazel Lucille Bates Parker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Jean was a beautiful and sweet woman who loved everyone, and all who knew her loved her also. Jean and Charles have been residents of Blairsville since 1995, moving here from Sparta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Brian Wade Kittle.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Stewart of Blairsville, daughter, Pamela (Earl) Grier of Douglasville, GA, daughter, Karen (Gary) Meeks of Sparta, GA, daughter-in-law, Amy Lane of Eatonton, GA, Brother, Donnie (Katie) Parker of Ballground, GA, sister, Connie Mashburn of Athens, GA, grandchildren, Lindsey Meeks, Jenna Grimes, Amanda Wooten, Alex Kittle, and Chelsea May, great grandchildren, Logan Meeks, Reagan Meeks, Tanner Grimes, Jack Wooten, Bo Wooten, and Launa Raines.
Funeral services: Monday, September 19, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church Blairsville with the Dr. Fred Lodge and Rev. Roy Bateman officiating. Music provided by: Dan Lachmiller and June Caldwell. Pallbearers: Lindsey Meeks, Alex Kittle, Dick Stillwell, Tom Maryscuk, Robert Hill, and Fred Woodward.
The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 21st at 11:00 a.m. at Powelton Cemetery in Sparta, GA.
