James Wilson

February 12, 1924 — February 19, 2024

Mr. James Arnold Wilson, 100, of Macon County, passed away February 19, 2024, at Erlanger WNC Hospital in Murphy, NC.

James was born February 12, 1924, in Macon County, NC to J. Frank and Carma Wilson.

He proudly served his country during World War II in the Navy. James and his wife, Shirley, lived and raised their family in Charlotte, NC. James taught high school industrial arts and drafting in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. After Shirley's passing, he returned to the mountains, residing in Andrews for the remainder of his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Frank Wilson, his mother, Carma Deweese Wilson, stepmother Elva Wilson Conley, sister Jessie Wilson and his wife, Shirley Wilson.

He is survived by his brother Ray Wilson (Bobbie) of Andrews, daughters Leslie Wilson Fallows, of Charlotte, Ann Wilson, of Decatur, GA and son Gray Wilson, of Andrews.
