James Cochran

James Cochran, age 80, passed away on October 21, 2023. James was born to the late Walter Cochran and Minnie Ledford. James married Nancy Cochran of 63 years. James had a big passion for hunting and fishing, and loved his Twinkies and always hid them from everyone.

He was preceded in death by Walter Cochran (Father), Minnie Ledford (Mother), Johnny Cochran (Brother), Faye Barker (Sister), Maragret Stanley (Sister), Daphane Barker (Sister), Hazel Simmonds (Sister), Lexie Hampton (Sister), Danner Cochran (Great-grandson), Lincoln Ashe (Great-grandson), Appalonn Ashe (Great-granddaughter), Lisa Cochran (Daughter-in-law), Woody Curtis (Son-in-law), Ruby Russell (Sister).

Survivors include Nancy Cochran (Spouse), Austin (Denise) Cochran (Son), Danny Cochran (Son), Erica Curits & David Martin (Daughter), Anglea (Johnny "Vern") Stroud (Daughter), Wayne Cochran (Brother), Linda Owenby (Sister), Jane Cochran (Sister), Jean Remke (Sister), 11 Grandchildren, and 24 Great-grandchildren.

Public Viewing will be held Thursday, 26th of October, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Homes of Murphy.

Services for James Cochran will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Homes of Murphy with Pastor Robert Seibert officiating. Burial will follow at Valleytown Cemetery in Andrews, NC.

Pallbearers include Jamie Cochran, Matthew Cochran, Kevin Cochran, Kurtis Cochran, Johnny Stroud, and Blake Curtis. Honorary pallbearers include Austin Cochran, Danny Cochran, Johnny "Vern" Stroud, David Martin, and Mikey Huskins.
