James Thomas Carr

November 3, 1935 — October 24, 2014

Mr. James "Jim" Thomas Carr, age 78 of Blue Ridge, passed away October 24, 2014 at Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Carr was born November 3, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Allen Carr and the late Isabella Katherine Nolan Carr. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and had been a painting contractor since 1965 in Daytona Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bill and Bob Carr, sons, Jimmy and Dean Carr and grandchildren, DJ Dormyer and Michael Louis.

Jim was a loving husband to Betty for 62 years and was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. When he was not painting, you could find him outside with his animals or spending time with his family. Jim was a hardworking man that was true to his word and went with his undying faith. His motto was "I can do all things through him who gives me strength."

He is survived by his wife, Betty Carr, son, Rick (Valerie) Carr, son, Tony (Mishel) Carr, daughter, Betty Ann (Joe) Provenzano, daughter-in law, Denise Carr, 15 grandchildren: Kimberlee, Mandy, Shane, Stephanie, Christina, Katie, Deana, Mellisa, Crystal, Derek, Jennifer, Andrew, Amber, Jordyn, and Taylor and 10 great-grandchildren: Cassidy, Courtney, Natalie, Natasha, Nikki, Mariah, Samuel, Emma, Isabella and Brayden.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Beck officiating. Music will be provided by Debra Cochran and Lydia Arnall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Betty Carr to aid with funeral expenses.
