James Terrell Garrett

The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Graveside Services for Mr. James Terrell Garrett, age 90, of Hiawassee, who passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Garrett was a native of Hiawassee, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. He had been a manager at AT & T. Mr. Garrett was a member of Lower Hightower Baptist Church.

He will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his family members: daughters and sons-in-law: Betsy and Dennis Morgan and Shelia and Michael Jones; son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Terrell and Sandy Garrett; Grandchildren: Leta "Shelly" Fuller, Melvin Linn Masters, Kristy Bullard, Garrett (Lindsey) Ellison, Leslie (Chuck) Prickett, Adam Garrett, Janet Jones, Michael Jones, Eric Jones, Patrick Jones, Megan Jones, Jessica Sullivan, and Brittany Cooper; Great Grandchildren: Lexie Gray Lyles, Blake Parker, Savanna Masters, Cole Stevens, Devin Bullard, Tucker Ellison, Hayden Gospodareck, Charlee Reece Prickett, Madison Garrett, Hannah Jones, Garrison Jones, Noah Jones, Will Sullivan, and Wyatt Cooper; Great Great Grandchildren: Wyatt Holland, John Cade Holland, Preston Sylvey, Tucker Ellison, Winford Parker and Blakley Parker. A sister, June Brookshire, also survives.

Mr. Garrett had been preceded in death by his wife, Leta Mae (Arrowood) Garrett; parents, Carlton Taft Garrett and Eula Mae Ledford Garrett; a son, Gary James Garrett; daughter, Charlotte Ann "Chick" Garrett;siblings: Carlton Garrett, Jr., Gerald B. Garrett, Jack Earl Garrett, Jerry Max Garrett, Joel Garrett, Justus Doyle Garrett, Janet Gregg.

Graveside services have been scheduled for Saturday, December 5th, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., to be held at Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery.
