James "Jim" Davis, age 73, of Mineral Bluff, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016
due to complications following a brief illness. Mr. Davis was born January 6, 1943.
Jim was married to the love of his life, Carol Rhodes Davis, for 49 years. He was a master brick mason by trade and coached numerous recreation league baseball and basketball
teams. He loved the mountains and the hobbies afforded by them including fly fishing,
gardening, hunting, and bird watching. Above all, Jim deeply loved his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruford and Mary Davis; wife, Carol Rhodes Davis; son, Bryan Davis; and sister, Cathy Wehunt.
Survivors include: sisters, Becky (Ruel) Mathis and Marilynn (Steve) Bailey; brother, PaulDavis, daughter Stacey (Paul) Cochran ; grandson, Brent Davis; granddaughters, Tara
(Corey) Ragan, Holly and Hope Cochran; great-grandson, Caleb Ragan;
special niece and nephew Susie (Carlton) Patterson and Ronnie Abercrombie;
special cousins Henry (Claralee) Hooper.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, 2016, at 3:00 P.M. At the Henry Cochran
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Hooper officiating. Interment will follow in
Toccoa Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers; Chad Mathis, James Lawrence,
Seth Bailey, Ronnie Abercrombie, Carlton Patterson & Gary Wehunt.
The family will receive friends at the Henry Cochran Funeral Home of Blue Ridge, GA from 6:00-9:00 P.M. On Thursday, June 30, 2016.
