James "jim" Bell

Mr. James Dempsey "Jim" Bell, Jr., age 87 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday, April 4, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Bell was born Friday, December 10, 1920 in Crittenden County, AR to the late James Dempsey Bell and the late Kathryn Swindler Bell. He attended Blairsville First Baptist Church and was an Air Force veteran during WWII with the 448th Bomb Group and recalled during the Korean Conflict . He was preceded in death by brother, Robert Bell.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia L. Bell of Blairsville, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Richard Larrick and Brenda Bell of Stuart, FL, daughter & son-in-law, Patricia Larrick and Ricky Allen of Blairsville, GA, sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Bell and George Goodman of Orange City, FL, granddaughter and husband, Casey Hope and Michael Williams, granddaughters, Rebecca Cristen Johnson and Dana Joy Alexandra Johnson.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 7, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from the Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Lodge and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music will be provided by Terry Hooper. Interment will follow in Union Memory Gardens with military honors conducted by The North Georgia Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers are: Ricky Allen, Dick Gray, Bob Laffoon, Marcus Tuschel, Dick Howington and Louis Linker. Honorary pallbearers include: Jim Stewart and Rick Siefken.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8, Sunday, April 6.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Regency Hospice.

The Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
