Mr. James Paul Walden, Jr., age 82 of Cleveland, TN, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Starr Regional Medical Center, Athens, TN. Mr.Walden was born October 17, 1931 in Fannin County, GA to the late Paul Walden, Sr. and the late Gwendolyn PopeWalden. He was a member of Pantertown Baptist Church and the Copperhill Masonic Lodge. James was very active in local politics. He served on the Copperhill City Council, the Polk County Board of Education and he was the former mayor of Copperhill, TN. James retired from the Railroad Department at Tennessee Chemical Company after many years of service.
Survivors include: wife, Sandra Walden, son & daughter-in-law, Jimmy & Carol Walden, son & daughter-in-law, Charles "Fred" & Sandra Walden, sister, Muriel Owenby, sister, Wanda McCormick, sister, Gloria Speed, brother, Bobby Walden, sister-in-law, Fredda Black, two grandchildren, Carla and Michael Walden, also many nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, from 5-7 pm. The service will be at 7 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home with Rev. Gary Parris officiating. Music provided by Sandy Lohr. Interment will be in the Crestlawn Cemetery.
