James Leland "Jim" Dobson

James Leland "Jim" Dobson, age 77, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Atlanta, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
Jim was born in Atlanta, GA to the late David Rufus and Cora (Coates) Dobson. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County and was active in the OASIS program there, teaching Bridge and Ceramics. Jim loved to work with his hands building and creating. He was preceded in death by sister, Modrie Simmons, daughter, Jenny Vickers, grandson, Brad Dalton.
Survivors include: wife, Ellie Dobson of the home, son & daughter-in-law, Scott & Lanie Dobson of Cary, NC, daughter & son-in-law, Debbie & Kevin Dalton of Marietta, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Marc & Michele Dobson of 29 Palms, CA, son, Howell Vickers of Daytona Beach, FL, daughter & son-in-law, Lynn & Jim Hinchey of Woodstock, GA, daughter, Wendy Miller of Commerce, GA, Brother, Hubert Dobson of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, sister, Margie Martin of Decatur, GA, Brother, Jewell Webb of Taylors, SC, thirteen grandchildren, Jonathan Dobson, Emily Dobson, Morgan Hinchey, Davis Hinchey, Laura Hinchey, Sadie Dobson, Noah Dobson, Matthew Dalton, Jeremy Miller, Justin Miller, Carrie Vickers, Casey Vickers, Kelly Vickers, many nieces & nephews.
Memorial services for Jim will be held Sunday, September 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM from the Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Ben Lewis and Rev. Stan Wallace officiating.
The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
The family suggest in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made in Jim's memory to First United Methodist Church of Union County Building Fund.
