James Lamar Wilson

Mr. James Lamar Wilson, age 66, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Wilson was born Monday, February 15, 1943 in Hall County, Georgia, to the late Clyde Wilson and Hersie Marie Shook Wilson. Lamar was a member of Providence United Methodist Church; Past President of UAW, Local 882, and had worked for many years as a United Automobile Worker's representative. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Wilson; and a brother, Clyde Wilson, Jr.

Surviving family members include his loving wife, Bobbie Keith Wilson of Blairsville; his mother, Hersie Shook Wilson of Blairsville; daughter, Angela Gail Wilson of Blairsville; and grandchildren, Kayla Marie Lloyd and Brandon Lloyd; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the Providence United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles A. Gillespie officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are the following gentlemen: John Hill, Michael Hill, Robert Jordan, Nathan Dixon, Danny Henson, and Steve Hill.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 untiil 9:00 p.m. , Tuesday, March 3rd.
