James Julius Wilson

James Julius Wilson, age 69 of Murphy, NC passed away September 12, 2020, at his home. Mr. Wilson was born June 1, 1951, in Cherokee, NC to the late Clarence Insman "Banjor" Wilson and the late Virginia "Daisy" Wilson. A member of the Baptist faith, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Greg Abernathy, and sister, Mary Ruth Abernathy. He was a lifelong resident of the area and Vietnam Veteran. He supported the St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project.

Survivors include: daughter, Katelyn Wilson, son, Kaleb Wilson, brother, David "Buddy" (Wanda) Wilson, sister, Elizabeth Irene Wilson (Wallace) Ledford, and several nieces and nephews.

Services with the Rev. Ricky Wilson officiating will be held Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 PM from the chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening 5:00 to 6:00 PM..
