James David Guthrie

James David Guthrie, age 69, of Morganton, GA, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. James was born February 6, 1954, in Jasper, AL to the late Frank Guthrie and the late Betty Jewel Guthrie. James was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted Guthrie and Ronnie Guthrie. 

He is survived by his wife, Gail Guthrie; son, David Guthrie; daughter, Alicia Guthrie; sons, Josh Wehunt, Joshua Guthrie; daughter, Jamie Zimmerman; sister, Virginia Peters; brother, Frankie Guthrie; grandchildren, Christian Guthrie, Ashley Guthrie, Tyler Guthrie, Mason Lang, Alexa Hawkins, Elijah Hawkins, Aria Wehunt, Cheyenne Guthrie, Aiden Guthrie, and Carson Zimmerman; father-in-law, Paul Wehunt; and brother-in-law, Gary Wehunt. 

James was the owner of Guthrie’s Tree and Lawn Service. He loved being outdoors and spending time with family. Funeral Service, Friday, September 8, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Fussell and Gary Wehunt officiating. Music by Jonathon Mitchell. 

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jeff Hancock, Hunter Coleman, Robert (Robo) Vivian, Jacoby Chadwick, Jonathon Mitchell, and Al Stafford. Honorary pallbearers, Chad Willis and Robert (Hippy) Cantrell. 

The family will receive friends at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Friday, 8th of September, 2023, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
