Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville announces funeral services for Mr. James Edward Wallace, 93, of Blairsville, Georgia, who passed away Friday, October 23, 2015 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mr. Wallace was born in Keokee, Virginia, on September 6, 1922, a son of the late Earnest and the late Maude Wallace. He served his country during World War II, in the U.S. Army, in Europe, during the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Wallace was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, a Christian saved by grace, and salt of the earth.....He had been preceded in death by his wife, Virginia, who died in 2010; his parents; two sisters, Virginia Wallace and Jean Wallace; and two brothers, Gerald Wallace and Rex Wallace.
Mr. Wallace will be missed by all who knew him, but especially missed by his loving family members: daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Paul Conley; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Davisson; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy, Jr., and Risa Wallace; and son, Leslie Wallace. Two brothers: Paul Wallace and Ronnie Wallace; seven grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren also share in Mr. Wallace's legacy.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., to be held in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Steve Youngblood officiating. The following gentlemen have been honored to serve as pallbearers: Paul Conley, Bill Davisson, Jimmy Wallace, Jr., Leslie Wallace, Rick Nari, and Shawn Jinkerson. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his wife. The family will be meeting with friends at Cochran Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, between the hours of 6 until 8 p.m.
