Mr. James Edward Smith, age 68, of Cherrylog passed away December 31, 2009 at his home.
Mr. Smith was born on March 2, 1941 in Coffee County, GA, to the late Alex and Mary Lou Davis Smith. He had lived most of his life in Fannin County and had retired from Levi's. Mr. Smith loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jessie Haddock.
Survivors include: wife, Shirley Mae Patterson Smith, sons, James (Donna) Smith, Jr. of Chastworth, William Edgar Smith of Cherrylog, daughters, Betty Ann Stewart of Blue Ridge and Lynda (John) Brackett of Morganton, grandchildren?s, David, Steven, Nancy, Tate, Chad, Kevin, Tiffany, Lewis, Amanda, Dana, Miranda, and Brittany, great grandchildren?s, Sean, Asiah, Kaden, Devon, Taylor, McKayla, Gaven, & Laney.
Services will be held, January 3, 2010 at 3:00 PM from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with Chaplain Joseph Kemper officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Finch Cochran Funeral Home from1 until 3 PM Sunday.
