James Edward "Eddie" Little

Mr. James Edward "Eddie" Little, age 87 of Blairsville, passed away Sunday morning October 23, 2016. Mr. Little was born April 25, 1929 in Sumter County, AL, the son of the late Charles Little and the late Hanna Jordan Little. Eddie had lived in Blairsville since 1992, moving here from East Point, Georgia, where he had taught and coached in the Fulton and Cobb County School Systems, primarily Briarwood High School in East Point and Campbell High School in Smyrna. Eddie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville and had been a Sunday School Teacher. Eddie had been active in Kiwanis, and served there for many years. Eddie loved fishing, hunting, and travel in the mountains of the Southeast. He also loved music and played a variety of string instruments. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather - his grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Nancy Harwood and her husband, Stephen Stratman of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Acreman of Douglasville, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, James E. Little, Jr.and his wife Heather of Murphy, NC; grandson, Nicholas Harwood and his wife Amanda of Blairsville; grandson, Aaron Harwood and his wife Christina of Blackshear, Georgia; granddaughter, Lauren Hayes of Douglasville, Georgia; sister, Alice Little Duncan and her husband Ray of Vernon, AL; sister, Nell Young of Rainbow, Alabama; and sister, Roma Jean Fuller and her husband Tommy of Livingston, AL. 3 great grandchildren also survive. Eddie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Carpenter Little.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Travis Adams officiating. Interment will follow in the Bellview Cemetery.
The following gemtlemen served as pallbearers: Nicholas Harwood, Aaron Harwood, Frankie Amos, Ryan Lampros, Steve Stratman, and David Acreman.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, Saturday, October 29, 2016, 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
