James Earl Phillips, age 84, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, January 11, 2021. Mr. Phillips was born April 30, 1936, in Cherokee, NC, to the late William T. Phillips and the late Lou Ella Bailey Phillips. He was a member of the North Fayette United Methodist Church. After retiring from GM Lakewood Assembly Plant, James Earl enjoyed taking care of his small farm, spending time with his wife and grandchildren, boating, and fishing. He was preceded in death by father, William T. Phillips and mother, Lou Ella Phillips.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Haren Phillips, daughters, Gina Moseley and Diane Brantley, sister, Kathy Graves, grandchildren, Matt Stone, Stephen Moseley, and Chase Moseley, great-grandchildren, Ethan Stone, Ryeleigh Stone, Harper Stone, and Adalynn Stone.
Graveside services: Saturday, January 16, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Barns Chapel Cemetery with
Chaplain Roger Edmunds officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers: Pat Moseley, Stephen Moseley, Chase Moseley, Matt Stone, Ethan Stone, and Sam Brantley.
