James Earl Dillard

James Earl Dillard, age 90 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on January 30, 2023 peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Dillard was born on October 9, 1932 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late Clay Dillard and the late Onie (Burns) Dillard. James was of the Baptist Faith, and he loved gospel and country music and singing in church. He enjoyed fellowship with others and making people smile and he always had a sweet treat handy to win over the affection of those he loved, especially all the grand/great grandchildren. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955. He also loved being outside, tinkering and working around his home. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clay Dillard and Onie (Burns) Dillard; his three brothers, Earnest, Marvin, and Bobby Dillard, and his four sisters, Hazel Pittman, Geneva Byers, Ruth Guffney, and infant Beatrice Dillard.
He is survived by his wife Faye (Henry ) Dillard; sons, James "Rick" (Gail) Dillard and Ronnie L. (Linda) Dillard of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Doris (Dillard) Perkins of Alabama; grandchildren, Michelle (Alan) Duren of Jasper, GA; Eric (Emily) Dillard of Canton, GA, Brandon (Brittany) Dillard of Blue Ridge, GA, and Hunter Dillard of Blue Ridge, GA; step-grandchildren, Kayla (Jeryl) Fortenberry of Blue Ridge, GA and Daniel Brown of Blue Ridge, GA; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, February 2nd at Henry-Cochran Funeral Home. Family will accept friends and family from 12-2 pm. with a memorial service following at 2 pm.
