Mr. James Bert Panther, age 65, of Turtletown, TN, passed away Monday, September 22, 2008 at Copper Basin Medical Center. Mr. Panther was born Friday, November 6, 1942 in Cherokee Co., N.C. to the late Robert J. Panther and the late Bertha Lee Watkins Panther. James was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Farner, TN.
James was preceded in deathby his parenats, and one great granddaughter, Megan Nichole Pranther.
Survivors include: his wife, Lois Wilcox Panther, children, Kevin Panther of Fort Hood, TX and Melissa Hedrick of Turtletown, TN; sister, Rose Tratham of Wolk Creek, NC, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9/25/08 at 2:00P.M from the New Zion Baptist Church, Farner with the Reverend Farris Reid officiating. Music will be provided by Theresa Dillard, Tina Taylor, and Clyde Rose. Interment will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Bill Newman, David Newman, Joe Akins, Tommy Taylor, David Taylor, and Kenny Taylor. Masonic Rites graveside service
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from Wednesday, September 24, 2008 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M..
The Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville, Georgia has been entrusted with the arrangements.
