Jacob Nathaniel Bandy

Jacob Nathaniel Bandy, age 28, of Murphy, North Carolina passed away on December 17, 2024. Jacob was born on November 22, 1996 in Cleveland, Tennessee. Jacob was of the Christian faith and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Murphy, North Carolina. 

If you knew Jacob, he was a young man that loved other people. He had a keen sense of humor and could keep others laughing. He was a avid coon hunter and trainer of coon hounds. He faithfully served his community through the Wolfcreek Volunteer Fire Department. Jacob had a strong bond with animals, especially horses. He enjoyed rodeos. As a Christian, he served his Lord at Temple Baptist Church. His sons were the light of his life. 

Jacob was preceded in death by grand fathers, Bill Bandy and Sonny Wallace. He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Stacy Bandy; children, Waylon Jaxon Bandy and William Lane Bandy; brother, Josh (Samantha) Bandy and sister, Jenna (Evan) Sneed; uncle, Nathan (Danitra) Wallace; aunts, Susan (Keith) Guess, Lisa (Randy) Styles; great aunts, Sue Graves, Becky Ballew, Carol (Mike) Campbell, Judy Curtis, Janet Bandy and Annette Helton; great uncle, Ed Bandy; grand mothers, Linda Bandy and Norma Jean Wallace; nieces, Katie, Maddy and Millee; several cousins also survive. 

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Temple Baptist Church, 11 Simonds Chapel Road, Murphy, North Carolina with Pastor Steve Ware and Pastor Don Padgett officiating. Music will be rendered by Andy and Tammy Ware. Interment will follow the service in the Temple Baptist Church Cemetery with Final Call Fireman rites rendered at the graveside. 

The family will be receiving friends for a time of visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Cochran-McDaniel Funeral Home in McCaysville, Georgia from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon. A processional of family and fire personnel will leave at approximately 12:15 PM to the Temple Baptist Church. Jacob will lie in state for a time of visitation at the Temple Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM funeral service hour. 

The follow gentlemen will serve as active pallbearers: Joseph Crowe, Jacob Crowe, Alex Curtis, Spencer Guess, Justin Simonds, Austin Starnes, Wyatt Starnes, Levi Murphy and Tyler Shields. The following will serve as honorary pallbearers: D.J. Ross, Dawson Ross, Colton Holder, Kacey Carter, Kevin Carter, Zach Wood, Chad Ensley and Wolfcreek and neighboring fire departments. 

Flowers are being accepted or donations in memory of Jacob can be made to Gideons International or the Shepherd Center Rehab in Atlanta, Georgia.
