Mr. Jack Walter Housley, age 87, of Epworth, GA, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday morning, July 30, 2019. Jack was born on July 15, 1932, in Epworth, GA, to the late Lester G. & Naomi Galloway Housley.
Jack retired from Tennessee Chemical Company in the late 1980s and went on to also retire from truck driving in 2007. He enjoyed gardening, Nascar and community work, as well as, a special devotion to his family and his church. He was awarded the honor of a fifty-year pin from McCay Lodge #423 F&AM and served as a deacon for Bethel Church for over thirty-eight years. He greatly enjoyed singing with Bethel Choir and being an active part of the bus ministry. Jackie goes on to be with his parents as well as his brothers, Jerry Housley and Jim Housley.
He will be remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Shirley Qualls Housley; Children, Jackie Housley, Diane West, Rick Housley, and Andy Housley; brother, Max Housley, and sister, Bobbie Jean Phillips. Also sharing in his legacy are ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Funeral services will be held at Bethel Church on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Doug Payne, officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Foster, Butch Pittman, Stacy Curtis, Ray Stillwell, Rick Curtis, and Larry Dilbeck. Special Music will be provided by Benny & T.C. Picklesimer, Rick Curtis, and Jeremy Payne
