Jack Leon Simonds, Sr., age 75 of Copperhill, TN, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Copper Basin Medical Center. Jack was born Monday, January 9, 1933 in Cherokee Co. NC to the late Andrew Jackson Simonds and the late Josephine Henson Simonds. He was of the Baptist Faith, retired from Tenn. Chemical Company after thirty four years of service, enjoyed farming,wood working cattle and traveling, He was preceded in death by first wife, June Williams Simonds, step daughter Donnia Williamson and son in law Lonnie Green.

Simonds, son and daughter in law, Jack & Sandra Simonds, Jr. of Murphy, son & daughter-in-law, Mervin & Marsha Simonds of Copperhill, TN, daughter, Ann Hyatt of McCaysville, daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Johnny Payne of Blue Ridge, daughter & son-in-law, Janie & Chris Henry of Decatur, TN, daughter & son-in-law, Martha & James Whitener of Blue Ridge, Ga., daughter & son-in-law, Sandy & Kenny Falls of Munster, IN, step-daughter & son-in-law, Diana & Tony Hamby, granddaughter, Suzianne Green Pass, granddaughter, Glenda Green Bline, granddaughter, Alicia Simonds, granddaughter, Paula Hyatt, grandson, Justin Simonds, granddaughter, Jessicia Falls, grandson, Anthony Payne, grandson, Matt Hyatt, grandson, Josh Whitener, grandson, Eric Payne, grandson, Jordan Falls, grandson, Ryan Henry, grandson, Clifton Henry, three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 2:00 pm from the Macedonia Baptist Church with the Reverend Renny Whittenbarger, Reverend Calvin Murphy officiating. Music will be provided by Sherry Smith and Janice Wilcox. Interment will follow in Macedonia (Wolf Creek) Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are: Don Rogers, Justin Simonds, Anthony Payne, Matt Hyatt, Josh Whitener, Eric Payne, Jordan Falls, Ryan Henry and Clifton Henry. Honorary pallbearers include: Larry Foster, Phil Kephart, Dale Snyder, Harvey Standridge, Greg Williamson, Joe Ballew, Don Mason, Tony Hamby, Justin Hamby, Jason Hamby, Junior Hancock and David Please.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 PM Saturday, May 3.
