Jack Lawrence

Jack Lawrence, age 86, born on June 10, 1927, was called home on September 1, 2013. Originally from Adel, GA, he most recently resided in Destin, FL with his wife of 60 years, Betty Collins Lawrence of Blairsville, GA. Jack was a Navy veteran of WWII where he served in the Pacific. After the war he attended North GA College, then GA Tech where he graduated with an Electrical Engineering degree. He worked for GA Power for 38 years where he retired as Vice President of Power Delivery. In his spare time he enjoyed farming and built several homes. Later in life he became an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his wife, sons, and many friends. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Jack (wife, Rhonda) Lawrence, of Milton, Bill (wife, Kim) Lawrence, of Jasper, Joe (wife, Rhonda) of Canton; 6 grandchildren, Hali, Sarah, Taylor, Jenna, Walker, and Will; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013, 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Hugh DeLoach officiating. Interment services for the family will follow at Choestoe Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA.
