Jack E. Jones Jr., age 79 passed away January 15, 2025, at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. Jack was born on June 14, 1945, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and was a resident of Morganton, Georgia, where he lived a life filled with service, love, and dedication.

Jack's journey through life was marked by his fervent commitment to his family and community. He is survived by his devoted wife, Larissa Jones; his son, Christopher Jones; his grandson, Elijah Jones; his sisters, Frances (Ted) Schneble and Susan (Jerry) Schulman; Jack also leaves behind numerous cousins, other family members, and countless friends whose lives he touched throughout his remarkable life.

A proud and honorable veteran, Jack served in the U.S. Army, where he showcased his courage and dedication as part of the Artillery branch and was Lieutenant. His commitment to service extended far beyond the military; for over two decades, he faithfully served in Fannin County Jail Ministry, starting a transformative program that baptized over 200 inmates, both male and female. His work with the Billy Graham Rapid Response as a Chaplain and through Samaritan's Purse’s Heal Our Patriots initiative in Alaska exemplified his deep faith and desire to uplift those in need.

Jack was also a prominent figure in the Blue Ridge community, having served as the long-time president of the Blue Ridge Kwanis Club, where he dedicated his efforts to making a positive impact on the lives of others. In addition to his community involvement, he had a deep love for photography, capturing the essence of legendary musicians such as the Oak Ridge Boys, Lionel Ritchie, and the Doobie Brothers.

Jack’s life was one of service and compassion, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He deeply loved the Lord and his church, World Harvest North, where he served as an Elder exceeding twelve years and a member a little under twenty - four years.
