Jack Brower

The Cochran Funeral Home & Crematory of Blairsville announces the death of Mr. Jack B. Brower died March 20, 2013 just days before his 91st birthday at his home near Blairsville, Ga.

He was born in Peru, Indiana and spent most of his life in Marion, Indiana. He was son of the late Floyd and Dulcia Brower. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Constance Marie and his brother, Joe.

He graduated from Marion High School in 1940. He was married to Miriam Miller for 67 years! They had two daughters. Jack worked at RCA in Marion for 31 years retiring as purchasing manager. Upon retirement in 1982, they moved to Florida living in Stuart, Florida until 2004 when they moved to Blairsville. Ga. with their daughter and son-in-law Alex and Joyce Stewart. Jack was an avid boater and belonged to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in Stuart for ten years where he was flotilla commander for one year and served three terms as vice commander. He was a safety boat examiner for nine years examining more than 100 boats per year for two years.

Besides Alex and Joyce, he is also survived by his wife, Miriam, two grandsons, Jeff and Jason Wilkinson, and a great-granddaughter, Haley Wilkinson.
