Iris Wright Lunsford

Iris Wright Lunsford, age 81 of Murphy, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home. Mrs. Lunsford was born June 29, 1933 in Topton, NC. She was a former owner of Iris Gift Shop, loved painting and crafts, she was a member of Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church, she was preceded in death by her loving daddy and mama, Rush and Hassie Wright and beloved daughter, Nancy Cross.

Survivors include: husband of thirty nine years, James Lee Lunsford, loving daughter , Angela Fors, brother, Alvin Wright, nine grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, aunt, Stella Mason, special person whom she loved like a grandson, Mike Griggs, care givers, Kay Underwood and Debbie Wood, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services: Friday, August 15, 2014 at 3:00 pm at the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Chester Jones officiating. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Music provided by Pierce Luther, Bernie Dixon, Kay Underwood, Sandi Thoreson and The Smokey Mountain Gospel Singers. Pallbearers include Dennis Curtis, Larry Curtis, Jason Killian, Freddy Carson, Bryan Lunsford and John Uetsuki.

The family will receive friends at the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church of Murphy, Friday, August 15, 2014 1-3 PM . Flowers are being accepted how ever donation may be made to the Peachtree Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1650 NC Highway 141 Murphy, NC
